Yes, my third blog post of this week cometh. I promise not to do this too often. But I have something so big to share right now that it just couldn’t wait—I’m honored and thrilled to announce that I’ve been chosen as a Designer in Residence at SweetGeorgia Yarns for the 2021-2022 season!
SweetGeorgia is an artisan hand-dyed yarn company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. They just celebrated their 15th anniversary last year and are known for their rich, saturated colors and luxurious yarns. I had the joy of using their yarns for my Á Chloris shawl recently; I’m looking forward to a whole year of working with their wonderful team as well as their products. I will be serving as one of two residents; the other is the fabulously talented Matt Akers, who you can read about in SweetGeorgia’s announcement here.
As residents, Matt and I will have the opportunity to collaborate with the SweetGeorgia team on a variety of projects. Designing patterns is obviously an important part of the job; but we’ll also be learning and building our skill sets under SweetGeorgia’s Design Director Tabetha Hedrick, and producing some content for their online learning platform, the School of SweetGeorgia.
There’s going to be quite a lot going on behind the scenes over the next 12 months, and I’ll have lots to share. Until then, happy knitting!
