It’s time for the Mélodies KAL! Signups (and lovely yarn pictures!) are beginning to appear and I can’t wait to see what everyone makes. This is a super laid-back knitalong, so most of the housekeeping items below are to make the prize draws at the end easier—from the top:
- Any of the four patterns from Mélodies: Shawls Inspired by French Art Song are eligible. They can be purchased from both Ravelry and LoveCrafts as single patterns or in ebook form.
- Only projects started on or after April 14 are eligible for physical prizes—more on that down below—but projects already started are welcome in the chat thread and are eligible for the digital pattern prizes.
- Tag your project melodieskal2021 on Ravelry, or use the hashtag #melodieskal2021 on Instagram.
- Modifications are welcome! Want to use a different yarn weight, make your shawl larger or smaller, or even turn your shawl into a cowl? That’s perfectly fine! Just follow the tagging guidelines above, and link your project to the original pattern if you’re on Ravelry so we can all ooh and aah.
- For Ravelry users—finished objects will go in this thread. If you haven’t finished your project by the end of the KAL (life happens!), pop it in the WIP thread.

Now, prizes!
I’ll be dropping trivia questions in the main Ravelry discussion thread from time to time throughout the KAL; most of them will relate to French music & composers and should be easy to find the answers to. Winners will receive coupon codes to my Ravelry store, so if you’re participating on Rav, keep your eyes peeled.
