“Music is not in the notes, but in the the silence between.” ~ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Silence Tee is out today! I’ve been blathering about it on here nonstop for the past few weeks, so I’ll be brief here. The biggest thing I have to say is how thankful I am to and for every person that preordered Silence in the past three weeks—just preorders along have put Silence in my top 5 bestsellers ever. All the other patterns in the top 5 have been out for at least 8 months, with most of them being a couple of years old. Thank you to every person who preordered or shared this pattern, or who left kind words on Instagram.
I’ve talked a good bit about the design process and inspiration for Silence already, so all that’s wanting is a personal note. Silence is hard for me. My brain is always buzzing; I’m always reading or listening to or watching something; I like to know what’s headed my way in life and hate waiting to find out. The above quote by Mozart is certainly true in music—I know that as a singer—and I’m trying to remember that it’s true in life as well. This design is an ode to slow down, to rest, and to being patient, even if it drives me crazy.
Then of course, there’s the boring stuff: as always, you can find this pattern on Ravelry and Payhip. There’s also going to be a knitalong, which, if you are so inclined, you can join on either Ravelry or Instagram (or both). Rules can be found in this post from last week. I’ll be knitting along with you, so I really must go clear the WIP decks…
I can’t wait to see all your Silence Tees popping up in the world!
