More Facets Joy is here! Many more vibrant Facets Cowl adventures have been added to Ravelry since Part 1; and with the world in need of a bit of cheer and color right now, this seemed like a good time for another installment!
Susan’s Facets Cowl uses Knit Picks Chroma in Shortcake—a lovely creamy, peachy pink—with a solid mahogany yarn for a harmonious combination that still has plenty of contrast. The finished cowl has wonderful drape, most likely because the solid yarn is less dense than Chroma.
Sandy made two Facets within a few days of each other, one in the suggested colors (Red Velvet and Black) and the other in a different yarn, lime green and an exuberant rainbow multi. (Her project notes say that the lime green/rainbow cowl was made for a dog—that’s one lucky critter!) The “Handmade” tags add a fun finished touch.
Just finished days ago, Katy’s cowl also uses Shortcake but pairs it with Wednesday, a soft, melty grey with pops of purple; the finished cowl has an amazing sunrise glow. Rather than dulling the pinks, the neutrals provide contrast that makes them pop.
Suzanne made her cowl in a glossy single-ply with glowing multi colors—and then went the extra mile and made herself a matching top! The full ensemble speaks for itself; well done, Suzanne!
Last but by no means least, Julie’s colors are truly stunning; here she combines solid Grey with Drawing Room, an elegant melange of pastel purples, blues, and greens. The analogous colors shimmer subtly and each of the various shades interact with the grey differently, with fascinating results.
That’s it for now—big thanks to the creative crocheters who graciously shared their photos for this post, as well as their tips and tricks in their project notes. Click on any of the photos above to view their respective project pages; I hope they inspire you as much as they do me. Enjoy!
