Today’s post is sort of like the “Acknowledgements” section at the front of books; except instead of just telling you about it, I get to show you! About six weeks before the release of Le Soir, I put out a testing call on Ravelry and ended up with 4 fabulous knitters who offered to help out; they’ve graciously allowed me to share their Le Soir projects with you today. (To view their Ravelry project pages, click on each image below.)
Cloud6 was the first to finish the test, almost 2 weeks before the deadline; this version of Le Soir was knit in Cascade 220 Fingering, sturdy and wearable.
Evenman and I actually connected for the first time several months ago, when she made one of my other patterns, Zephyr Doily, and kindly offered to test for me in the future. (Read: Zephyr needed testing…) Her Le Soir is a delicate 100% alpaca—and is that rust color awesome or what?
Kelleighz used Miss Babs’ workhorse sock yarn, Yummy 2-ply, in a gorgeous plummy purple. This project was her first time doing kitchener stitch/grafting to join two pieces of knitting—but I don’t think anyone would ever guess!
Finally, shatulina used laceweight yarn (rather than fingering) in a soft, neutral color for her ethereal Le Soir. In addition, she replaced the nupps with small black seed beads; the results, as you can see, are absolutely stunning.
Thank you Cloud6, evenman, Kelleighz, and shatulina for all your work, feeback, and enthusiasm! This pattern wouldn’t have been possible without you.
Le Soir is available as an individual pattern download from Ravelry and Lovecrafts, and as part of my ebook Mélodies. More information available here.
I love them all! So glad that I was able to do this with these other fine knitters.
Thanks for all your help, Kelleigh!
