So, I made a lace monster. I will not tell a lie; that’s what it is. I’m clearly a little crazy. But the real question is whether there’s anyone else as crazy as I am that would actually want to make this thing themselves. The answer? Yes. That’s right, I actually did get testers for it! Two amazing testers, in fact.
Askebp was my first tester to sign up; she used a fabulous tonal lace yarn from Manos del Uruguay that shows off her amazing work. As you can see, the variation was broken up and distributed beautifully, possibly with help from the short rows. And just look at the drape!

Katbry was the first to finish—she knitted from a cone of alpaca yarn that was so large, she used just over half of it to make her gigantashawl! She blocked hers more shallowly to create more of a wedge shape; but her lace still opened up wonderfully. And above, she shows you how to rock a shawl like this with business attire!

Both askebp and Katbry were invaluable during the process of bringing Nuit d’etoiles to publication; their diligence, patience, and sharp eyes for detail made the pattern better, and I am so grateful to them. Please send them a big round of applause!
Oh, and remember that Clair de Lune is coming this week! I can hardly wait. See you Wednesday!
Nuit d’etoiles is available as an individual pattern dowload from Ravelry and LoveCrafts, as well as in the Mélodies: Shawls Inspired by French Art Song ebook from both channels.
