Ludwig would be proud—after a delightful month of games, chatter, and, of course, knitting and crocheting, his Birthday Cowl-Along has come to a close. Prizes were drawn last week and will be shipping out before long; and now it’s time to show off all the amazing projects!

ByMelodyGould whipped up the first FO of the Cowl-Along, a Wicket Gate Cowl in a neutral gradient yarn. She states in her project notes that she plans to wear the cowl while tending livestock and doing garden chores in cold weather—stay warm, Melody!

Deesuhr banged out two Wicket Gates in the first week of the Cowl-Along using some special stash yarn. She also made an amazing Helenental Cowl (Crochet) in her very own handspun yarn, and was a supportive cheerleader for everyone participating!

Giaotuan made the sole Facets Cowl of the event in two pastel self-striping yarns. By number of projects made, Facets is my most popular pattern, but every one is unique; this color combo may just be one of my favorites so far.

Deerbystarlight made yet another Wicket Gate Cowl in a fun self-striping yarn. She was also one of my testers for Helenental and used the same yarn for her test project; which means that now she has a totally one-of-a-kind commemorative matching cowl set!

Finally, Taprootchic21 crocheted a stunning purple Helenental Cowl and had the brilliant idea of using a shawl pin to drape it rather than sewing up the back neck seam—is that pin adorable or what?
In the words of Dr. Seuss, today is gone; today was fun; tomorrow is another one. This month of celebrating Beethoven has been a blast, and I hope to “see” everyone again. Please give a big hand to all these fabulous crafters; big thanks to all of them for their joy and enthusiasm! And let me just say it again: Happy Birthday, Ludwig!
