Heads Up

It’s been while since I posted a knitting update! Sadly I don’t have any knitting to share with you—yet. But I have been getting a ton of mail.

Earlier this year I held a little poll in my Ravelry group asking if anyone would be interested in a mystery knitalong or crochetalong, and what kinds of techniques would interest my group members. Since I’m already doing the Quiet Bay MKAL with SweetGeorgia Yarns (if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check it out!), I won’t be running an indie MKAL this year. However, I do plan to hold a mystery crochet-along on Ravelry and Instagram! More details will be available shortly. For now, here are the yarns I plan to use for this shawl. SGY Tough Love Sock is my favorite sock yarn ever; these colors are totally out of my wheelhouse and I love them. Isn’t that sock blank just about the coolest thing you’ve seen all day?

And here we have more SGY! As part of my designer residency with SweetGeorgia, I’ve been getting one-on-one coaching from Tabetha Hedrick, their design director, who is walking me through the process of creating my first garment design. That’s right, folks—I’m designing a sweater! To be precise, this is a lightweight summer sweater in SGY Flaxen Silk Fine, the little sister of Flaxen Silk DK, which I reviewed not too long ago. I chose their Mermaid colorway, which is a lovely watercolor-y teal/green/aquamarine/yellow color. I can’t wait for you to see this!

And finally, I’ll be working with some goodies from Malabrigo in the near future! These two hanks of Malabrigo Sock are destined for an early fall design. I can’t say too much yet, but brioche fans will want to keep an eye out!

Does any of this look interesting to you? If so, let me know in the comments. I always love hearing from you! Meanwhile, that’s a lot of yarn. Even for me. I guess I’d better stop typing and get some knitting or crochet done now…
