Pattern Release: Aetherios Shawl

Nothing says “spring” like a floral lace shawl—so happy spring, and here’s a shawl for you!

Aetherios Shawl is a top-down, half-pi shawl with loads of simple spring lace patterns. I haven’t designed sport-weight shawl before, so working with lace on a slightly bigger scale with stronger stitch definition was a blast! This design features Eco Sport, a recycled wool/Tencel blend from Sugarplum Circus. It’s crisp and drapey and sturdy, but breathes beautifully for summer. Be sure to check out the full range of stunning colors Jensen has available! My sample is worked in her Desert Rose colorway.

When Jensen reached out to me about creating a semi-circle shawl collection, I pretty much squawked at my computer screen—her work is incredible, and I’ve daydreamed about collaborating with her for ages. And you heard that right: Aetherios is first in a collection! It’s one of three shawls than Jensen and I have been hard at work on, and we’re so excited to reveal the others in the next few months.

But for now, Aetherios is available on Ravelry and Payhip! Take 15% off with code ETHEREAL until midnight EST on May 20. Alternatively, pick up the ebook for a heavily discounted price, and receive each pattern automatically as it’s released.

It feels good to have a pattern release again! As many of you know, I’ve been coming back from a severe burnout over the winter, and I definitely feel rusty. In the next few weeks I’m hoping to blog a bit more about that, and maybe share some encouragement for anyone who’s dealing with creative burnout. But it’s good being back in the saddle, and I hope y’all love this pattern as much as I enjoyed making it for you!
